Christopher had a long association with Italy. He first visited Italy in the early nineteen fifties on the advice of his father who had been researching for a travel book. On his first trip, Christopher met his future wife with whom he was to marry in 1957. Since those distant days, Christopher painted many Italian subjects, including landscapes, churches, beaches, and dramatic hill top towns. He returned to Italy many times over the decades, which resulted in many Italian paintings.
